POSITION: Technical Intern

The Data Analytics Team is seeking a motivated technical intern who is ready to apply knowledge of business practices and processes in a fast-paced, real-world environment. The intern will assist in gathering business requirements, writing reports, conducting research, analyzing data, and making recommendations to improve effectiveness and efficiency. This will be a valuable experience for any student pursuing a career in business or data analytics. Leverage a variety of source systems, analyze “as is” processes and workflows and document processes, tables and data for ingestion and build of solutions

The ideal candidate should enjoy finding answers through iterative data analysis.

PREFERRED DEGREE BACKGROUND:

• Computer Science/ Business Information systems/ Science
• Accounting / Finance with Computer programming knowledge

Areas of involvement:

• Participate in workshops with internal stakeholders for requirements gathering
• Translate business requirements into use cases to support delivery of analytic solutions
• Understand business goals and initiatives then use them as basis to derive actionable insights
• Articulate requirements to IT development teams to assist with understanding and building of scalable features and solutions
• Conduct status updates to stakeholders and executives
• Be an active contributor in various internal technical brainstorming sessions
• Review solutions and participate in validation prior to business UAT

DESIRED SKILLS:

Technical:

• Experience using analytics tools to support data analysis, profiling and validation
• Knowledge of programming languages like Python or C or C++ is a plus
• Understanding of Business Intelligence/Analytics solutions, preferably within a Big Data, Azure Cloud environment
• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Accounting or Statistics
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum processes (optional)
• Microsoft suite skills required
• Database – tables, files, indexing, keys (optional)
• SQL query abilities
